PCBA Business After Hours Speaker Series – March 28, 2024

Please join us on Thursday, March 28 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm for our PCBA Business After Hours Speaker Series Event .

Our Speakers Erin Hanson, Founder & CEO and Lee Hanson, Co-Founder & President of Guardian Sports will be sharing their entrepreneurial journey and their true passion for protecting athletes.

At Guardian Sports we have a true passion for protecting athletes, and we aim to continually develop technologies that can enhance sports equipment. Our goal remains the same: advance technologies to bridge the gap between the products that athletes deserve/need and what is currently available on the market.

Erin and Lee Hanson started Guardian in 2011 with one goal in mind ? innovating equipment to better serve athletes. Their 20+ years of experience owning and operating a material science and technology company enabled them to create the Guardian Cap ? now used by over 200,000 youth, high school and college athletes nationwide and mandated by the NFL. The purpose of the Cap is to reduce the force of impact upon collision experienced by football and lacrosse players, and to prove that soft-shell helmet technology is superior to that of a hard shell. This project stems from our passion for player safety, foundation in material sciences and the generally accepted physics behind impact reduction.

Our team continues to build the Guardian brand and recognition in the sporting goods industry. In addition to the Cap, we have re-engineered the lacrosse ball by developing PEARL.

We will be awarding a check to one of our outstanding local charities who are directly impacting our community.

We are excited to have an evening of business networking, a variety of beverages and great food

PCBA Business After Hours Speaker Series with Cole Porter, President of Porter Steel – April 25, 2024

Please join us on Thursday, April 25 from 5:30 – 7:30 pm for our PCBA Business After Hours Speaker Series Event with Cole Porter, President of Porter Steel.

Cole Porter is the President and Owner of Porter Steel, Inc. in Lilburn, GA, a structural steel and miscellaneous metals subcontractor that works on construction projects across the Southeast. Being born and raised in Georgia, Cole is proud to work in and be involved in the community where he grew up.

In addition to his work responsibilities, he is very involved in both industry associations as well as civic service organizations. Cole is on the Board of Directors and Public Policy Committee for both the Gwinnett Chamber and Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, and he is the current 2023-2024 President of the Rotary Club of Duluth. Additionally, he serves on the Gwinnett Medical Foundation Board and the 1818 Club Board. Cole lives in Monroe with his wife, Kaitlyn, and his three children, Amos (8), Hannah (7), and Abram (4). In his spare time, Cole enjoys traveling, weight lifting, art, politics, and listening to books and podcasts.

Cole Porter will share his experiences as a business leader, his challenges, his successes and discuss his company’s mission of improving lives and leading by example. This is an opportunity you do not want to miss.

We will be awarding two scholarships to our outstanding graduating high school seniors. Join us as we award their checks and celebrate in their successes.

We are excited to have an evening of business networking, a variety of beverages and great food, with a great speaker and an opportunity to celebrate our two future business leaders.

Porter Steel, Inc. is Powered by Principle. This is not a slogan or tagline, it’s our culture. Although we’re one of the Southeast’s leading steel fabricators, we are proud to be known for more than fabricating steel. Our mission is to improve lives and lead by example. Because of this, we are serious about investing in our people and the communities in which we work. We are committed to improving the lives of those we encounter and leaving a positive impact.

We understand that fabricating steel, whether a building or only the stairs and rails, is about a lot more than welding pieces of steel together; we recognize that each beam supports a greater structure, and every set of stairs allows people to access that structure to serve others with a greater purpose. Our services and products are only the vehicles that allow us and every stakeholder to positively impact others. Further, the profit we generate is used to build Porter Steel, invest in our families, and to give back to others. Again, steel is our vehicle, but improving lives and leading by example is our purpose.

Since 1983 from humble beginnings, Porter Steel, Inc. has successfully served customers throughout Georgia, and is now servicing projects across the Southeastern United States. Our customers include many fellow structural fabricators, value-minded general contractors, and owner-developers who need our direct expertise. Offering forty-plus years of experience, producing top-quality fabrication of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and high-end architectural metals and glass, provides peace-of-mind to both the building and design communities.
