About the position:Â Seeking an ambitious professional looking for an opportunity to expand their marketing knowledge and develop professionally. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent time management skills, and is a quick learner. In this position, the expected weekly workload is between 20-25 hours. The typical schedule will be weekdays from 9AM to 3PM but will change week-to-week based on event schedules and required attendance.
Job Responsibilities: This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Marketing & Communications and will assist in the organization’s marketing efforts.
- Social Media Marketing: Build out production schedules, monitor trends and algorithms for highest & best post strategies, schedule paid social promotions, and increase reach and followership over all social platforms.
- Email Marketing: Build, route for editing/proofing, editing, and schedule the Chamber’s monthly, weekly, and daily email marketing pieces as well as specialty emails for board meetings, The Executive, the Chairman’s Club monthly newsletter, and future needs to be identified.
- Event services support: Attend events to cover social media posting on stories and newsfeeds; provide back-up support for photography to allow more video capture by the visual content and production manager.
- Other duties assigned: Support the marketing communications team as needed over and above any of the aforementioned primary responsibilities.
This position, as with all positions at the Gwinnett Chamber, will be asked, on occasion, to help and support other departments as needs arise (e.g. set-up of equipment, cleaning, greeting & registration of guests, etc.).
Employment Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or GED is required. Certification or degree in Marketing, Communications, social media, or digital media is a plus.
- Extreme attention to detail with solid interpersonal communication skills.
- Team-oriented and adept at working in a collaborative environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
- Solid understanding of general marketing principles (social media, analytics, email marketing etc.)
- Knowledge of various social platforms and strategy (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Google Ads, and YouTube)
