Founded in 2016, YO Gwinnett Inc. serves to address the needs of homeless youth, a problem that has reached epidemic proportions in Gwinnett County. We aim to inspire and uplift teens while providing short-term emergency shelter in a safe environment. Support services are for youth, and their families, who are runaways, homeless, put-outs, and unstably housed or at risk of becoming homeless.

We will provide up to three days of shelter for up to four teens at-a-time with a maximum capacity of 480 teens to be served in one calendar year. Teens between the ages of 13 and 17 male and/or female will be served. The Emergency teen Homeless Shelter enhances the quality of life for teens in Gwinnett County on a temporary basis by providing decent and safe shelter. The shelter can accommodate four temporary residents at-a-time who will have access to three meals daily, showers and personal hygiene items, laundry facilities and supportive resources for school, counseling, and placement and return to permanent housing.

YO Gwinnett has also provided other services included but not limited to athletic youth scholarships, need-based youth scholarships, school supply giveaways, holiday gifts for youth and families, referrals for homeless youth and families, ongoing youth mentoring and a variety of community support.

To date, the organization has participated in a number of community and Chamber activities including Principal for a Day, Gwinnett Family Fest, Membership Orientation, Executive Insights featuring Rich McKay, Give Center East community day, Sweetwater Middle School Be There Fair, GIVE Center East school council, YO Back 2 School Bash, and YO Holiday Christmas celebration.
