2026 Gwinnett Chamber Day at the Capitol

Despite a weekend of wintry weather, the Gwinnett Chamber traveled to the State Capitol on Tuesday for its annual visit with the Georgia General Assembly. Twenty business leaders represented Gwinnett’s business community during this year’s Gwinnett Chamber Day at the Capitol, presented by Jackson EMC.

The business delegation began the day meeting with Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, who highlighted his office’s operational efficiency and ongoing efforts to streamline professional licensing. The group then met with House Minority Leader Carolyn Hugley of Columbus, who shared insights into the Democratic Caucus’ legislative priorities, including affordable healthcare access, housing, and education. Attorney General Chris Carr rounded out the morning with a discussion on the importance of attracting quality jobs while maintaining safe communities in Georgia.

The House convened for Legislative Day 7, during which State Representatives Matt Reeves and Jasmine Clark delivered the morning order remarks. Speaker Jon Burns and Members of the House of Representatives recognized and welcomed the Gwinnett business delegation. Several members of the Gwinnett legislative delegation later joined the Chamber group for lunch and continued dialogue on issues impacting the business community. House Resolution 1069 and Senate Resolution 606 officially recognized January 27, 2026, as Gwinnett Chamber Day at the Capitol.

Attendees included Jennifer Fennell, Kevin Dodson, and Cameron Barnhill of Jackson EMC; Cynthia Kaye and L.A. Ricketson of Alive Studios; Dean Collins of Axis; Dr. Darin Wilson of Georgia Gwinnett College; Kelley Balkcom and Deven Cason of Georgia Power; Trey Ragsdale of Kaiser Permanente; Michael Parkerson of PCOM Georgia; Rob Drake and Ari Allen of Synchronize Solutions; Ben Seals of Thomas Eye Group; Kim Hartsock of Warren Averett; PK Martin of Hood Insurance; and Gwinnett Chamber hosts Nick Masino, Paul Oh, and Nick Gosen.
