2025 Gwinnett County Election Results

Georgia voters headed to the polls on November 4 to decide a range of state and local contests. At the top of the ballot were two Public Service Commission seats, where Democratic challengers Alicia Johnson and Peter Hubbard defeated Republican incumbents Tim Echols and Fitz Johnson.

House District 106, which includes parts of Lawrenceville and Snellville, held a special election following Representative Shelly Hutchinson’s early retirement. Democrat Muhammad Akbar Ali and Marqus Cole will advance to a December 2 runoff after receiving the two highest vote totals in the three-candidate race.

In Gwinnett, voters decisively renewed the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST). The Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors had unanimously endorsed the measure, which continues the one-cent sales tax dedicated to capital investments that support student learning, safety, and success.

In Loganville, Branden Whitfield was elected Mayor following Skip Baliles’ decision not to seek another term. All other Gwinnett municipal mayors on the ballot were re-elected or ran unopposed.

This year’s voter turnout reached 20.6 percent, with more than 120,000 Gwinnett residents casting ballots. For full results, visit the Gwinnett Chamber Elections page.
