On July 25th, the Gwinnett Leadership Organization for Women (GLOW) hosted its “Fostering Female Leadership” event at the 1818 Club in Duluth. The event featured a panel of previous Moxie Award winners who discussed the importance of cultivating leadership among women to drive positive change and empowerment. More than 175 women leaders from throughout the community were in attendance.

Deirdra Cox from Community Sustainability Enterprise moderated the panel, which included Dr. Jann Joseph of Georgia Gwinnett College, Jennifer Fennell from Jackson EMC, and Logan Serrano of Leadership Gwinnett.

Dr. Jann Joseph highlighted, the idea of lifting up each other as women in the workplace, because if we don’t, who will. Jennifer Fennell emphasized the need for trust and showing up authentically every day, so that we can build lasting relationships. Last year’s young professional Moxie Award winner Logan Serrano added to Fennell’s thought by observing how leadership development among women fosters a more inclusive and innovative environment.

The event concluded with an invitation to join the Gwinnett Chamber on August 30 for its annual MOXIE Awards program celebrating women leadership in business and community.
