Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett Host Sold-Out Event Spotlighting International Investment Opportunities

The Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett hosted a sold-out installment of Global Atlanta’s Consular Conversations: OTP series featuring the Dominican Republic. The event, presented by Miller & Martin LLC, welcomed more than 100 attendees eager to learn about opportunities for global business expansion and foreign investment.

The program featured Rosa Yanina Torres Tamares, Consul General of the Dominican Republic in New Orleans, Louisiana. Consul General Torres Tamares delivered an insightful address on the Dominican Republic’s strategic position in global trade, tourism, and economic development, underscoring the nation’s strong diplomatic and commercial ties to Georgia and the southeastern United States.

Following her remarks, attendees engaged in a panel discussion that included Miguel Angel Santana Galva, Vice Consul and Head of Trade & Investment Affairs for the Dominican Consulate, alongside representatives from both Dominican and local Georgia-based companies that are actively doing business in the region. The panel explored real-world examples of investment, import/export logistics, and the value of bilateral partnerships in driving economic growth.

Trevor Williams, Managing Editor of Global Atlanta, moderated the program, guiding a thoughtful and engaging conversation that reinforced the importance of cross-border business connections and Gwinnett’s role as a leader in global economic engagement.

Guests also enjoyed an authentic lunch experience catered by Latin Fresh, adding a cultural dimension to an event centered around diplomacy, commerce, and connection.

Supporting Gwinnett’s economic development strategy, the Consular Conversations series continues to elevate the community’s status as a welcoming, globally connected business destination. As the most diverse county in the nation (Niche.com) with a strong track record of foreign direct investment, Gwinnett is uniquely positioned to serve as a gateway for companies looking to expand their global footprint.
