Gwinnett, Metro Atlanta, GA – March 20, 2025 – The Gwinnett Chamber, in partnership with Mobile Communications America and Motorola Solutions, hosted the 20th Annual VALOR Public Safety Awards this morning at Gas South District. This annual event brought together over 360 business professionals, community leaders, and first responders to recognize the outstanding dedication of those who serve and protect the greater Gwinnett region.
“A safe community is the foundation for a thriving economy—it attracts jobs, fosters opportunity, and strengthens the future of our region,” said Nick Masino, President & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber. “The courageous men and women who protect and serve the greater Gwinnett area, its municipalities, and its citizens go beyond heroic; their dedication ensures that Gwinnett remains a place where businesses can grow, families can prosper, and our future remains bright.”
This year’s event was marked by the attendance of U.S. Representative Andrew Clyde of Georgia’s 9th Congressional District. Representative Clyde addressed the crowd and stressed the importance of public safety, emergency services, and first responders to a strong and vibrantly connected community.
Ken Rutherford, Founder & CEO of ART Enterprises and a former executive with the Gwinnett Chamber was this year’s emcee, guiding the ceremony and sharing the inspiring stories of the honorees’ heroism and commitment to public service. This year’s VALOR Award recipients were recognized as follows:

- Corporal Sean Donahue – Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office
Public Safety Unit of the Year (Presented by Walton Gas)
- Behavioral Health Unit – Gwinnett County Police Department
Lifesaving Award (Presented by Kaiser Permanente)
- Senior Patrol Officer Feniel Etienne – Lilburn Police Department
Medal of Valor (Presented by Mobile Communications and Motorola Solutions)
- Bronze Medal of Valor: Master Police Officer Jesse Kublas – Gwinnett County Police Department
- Silver Medal of Valor: Sergeants James Huth and Daniel Werner – Gwinnett County Police Department
- Gold Medal of Valor: Lieutenant Tochi Davis, Sergeant Gregory Ross, Corporal Martele Smith, Deputy Sheriff Senior Khuong Thai, and Deputy Sheriff Master David Wood – Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office
