U.S. Representative Mike Collins (GA-10) met with members of the Gwinnett Chamber Public Policy Advisory Committee for a business roundtable, providing local business leaders with an opportunity to engage directly with the Congressman on key federal issues impacting the business community.
Congressman Collins and committee members discussed a wide range of policy priorities, including historic tax reform, regulatory reform, and efforts to streamline federal permitting processes. He stressed the importance of reducing burdensome federal regulation, particularly as it relates to the Clean Water Act, and shared insights on his work to ensure a more efficient permitting process that spurs economic development.
The Congressman also highlighted H.R. 1818, Aviation Workforce Development Act, a bi-partisan legislation aimed at enhancing the flexibility of 529 plans for education-related expenses required for participation in aviation maintenance and commercial polit courses, an industry that, like many others, is facing workforce shortage.
