Laura Vladick
Describe what you do for your company.: I am the Development Director, responsible for leading fundraising efforts within our organization. My role involves building relationships with individuals and organizations to secure philanthropic support for our programs and projects. I also support the Executive Director by planning, promoting, and implementing fundraising events. Additionally, I assist in procuring major donors and sponsors, organizing silent auctions, and obtaining in-kind donations. I also focus on developing new relationships and partnerships within the community.
Describe what your company does.: Spectrum provides support, education, and resources for individuals and families impacted by autism. With autism now affecting 1 in 36 children, Spectrum serves over 2,000 individuals – both children and adults – annually through support groups, camps, respite programs, social skills groups, family events, and community education. We continue to expand our programs to meet the growing need in Gwinnett County and the surrounding metro Atlanta area.
List any of your achievements.: Volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America for twelve years and led scouts on a High Adventure Sailing trip in the Caribbean. Also, I initiated and led a Girl Scout troop, dedicating nine years to volunteering. Found a sponsor and held the first Charity Golf Tournament for Spectrum, earning $5600 during my first year working as Development Director. Founding Board Member and current Co-President of Duluth Cluster Schools Foundation, raising funds for teacher grants at the Duluth schools and donating over $200,000 since the 2008-09 school year. Graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Central Florida. It’s especially impressive since my highest level of science and math in high school was Biology and Geometry. Never underestimate tenacity and determination.
Fun fact about yourself.: I love to have fun doing silly things like karaoke, dancing, laughing, and photo-bombing. Warning – It can be very contagious, and you know I will post it on social media!!
