Describe what you do for your company.: As the CEO of Because One Matters, I provide strategic leadership to advance the organization’s mission of supporting children and young adults impacted by foster care. I oversee program development, fundraising, and community partnerships to ensure we deliver meaningful resources, life skills training, and memorable experiences for youth. My role includes guiding organizational vision and growth, engaging donors and volunteers, managing budgets and compliance, and cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders, including DFCS and community partners. I also lead efforts to expand our signature programs—the Clothing Boutique and life skills initiatives—while ensuring sustainability through grants, sponsorships, and events like our annual Back-to-School Extravaganza and Splash & Dash Color Run.
Describe what your company does.: Because One Matters is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating brighter futures for children and young adults impacted by foster care. We provide hope and practical support through programs that meet immediate needs and prepare youth for long-term success. Our initiatives include:
Clothing Boutique – offering a dignified shopping experience for children to select brand-new clothing and essentials at no cost. Life Skills Training – equipping teens in foster care with practical skills such as cooking, budgeting, and career readiness to prepare them for independent living.
Celebration Events – hosting Back-to-School Extravaganzas, Christmas parties, and other experiences to help kids feel valued and loved.

Fun fact about yourself.: 1. Beach Lover The beach is my happy place! There’s nothing better than the sound of waves and warm sand between my toes.
2. Garden Therapy
Gardening is my go-to therapy. There’s something so peaceful and rewarding about watching things grow.
3. Fearless… Except for Heights & Snakes Fun fact: I’m all about big dreams and bold moves—but keep me away from heights and snakes!
4. Giving Brings Me Joy
This might not be fun to others, but I love, love, love serving and volunteering. It fills my heart every time.
5. Sports Fan at Heart
I love track & field and soccer—watching or cheering, I’m all in! I played soccer and ran track and field in high school.
