Describe what you do for your company.: My role is to work with the social workers, the cancer patient and their families to help alleviate the obstacles they may face. At Beyond the Ribbon, our goal is to educate patients on how to be their own advocate and help navigate their cancer journey. I also manage fundraising events, educational seminars, and our amazing volunteers.
Describe what your company does.: Beyond the Ribbon helps patients and families who have been faced with cancer to find the financial and emotional assistance needed to support their fight against this horrific disease.
We are unique in that we have the ability to go “beyond” the traditional medical needs and support patients and families with their every day needs as well. We can pay for prescriptions, co-pays, transportation, utilities, car payments, insurance, medical supplies, cell phone bills, groceries, and so much more. We also offer “wellness days” for survivors, informational seminars, support groups, and back to school supplies for our families. For many that are fortunate enough to complete treatment, we assist in finding that “new normal” and learning to deal with the potential side effects from cancer.
List any of your achievements.: Patient Navigator for Susan G Komen Advocate with Ovarian Cancer Alliance Volunteer at Northside Gwinnett Medical Center at Infusion Center Gwinnett Chamber Ambassador Member of Cancer Patient Navigators of Georgia (CPNG)
