The Gwinnett Chamber recently held its On Topic: Congressional Luncheon at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast, presented by Porter Steel. Over 150 business leaders attended to hear from Congressman Andrew Clyde and Congresswoman Lucy McBath, who shared insights on key national and local issues.
Congressman Clyde emphasized the importance of addressing inflation, reducing national debt, and balancing the budget. With the latest redistricting, Clyde noted that his representation of Gwinnett will increase from 15% to 30% in January 2025.
Congresswoman McBath highlighted the role of diversity in the community and federal investments secured for Gwinnett. She discussed the impact of the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and $100 million in safety improvements for local roads. McBath also underscored the significance of the $20 million Raise Grant for the Gwinnett Place Transit Center, which will enhance public transportation in the area.
The event provided valuable perspectives on legislative priorities and federal investments impacting Gwinnett’s future. The Chamber’s next On Topic will feature a Transportation Talk with Georgia DOT Commissioner Russell McMurry. To learn more and register to attend, visit GwinnettChamber.org/events.
