Lawmakers returned to the Gold Dome for legislative days 6-9. Tuesday, January 28 was Gwinnett Chamber Day at the Capitol where a delegation of chamber business leaders connected with our lawmakers and state leaders on key policy issues like legal reform.

On Thursday, Governor Brian Kemp unveiled his priorities to strengthen Georgia’s legal climate and stabilize insurance costs during a press conference. He was joined by Lt. Governor Burt Jones, Speaker Jon Burns, Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King, and industry leaders.

The Governor’s tort reform package includes policies that address key areas like premises liability, phantom damages, bifurcated trials, anchoring, and admissible seatbelt evidence, among others. President Pro Tempore John Kennedy (Senate District 18) will carry two bills that address the Governor’s priorities on tort reform. You can watch the Governor’s press conference here.
