The Gwinnett Chamber has been named a finalist for the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) ‘Chamber of the Year’ award. The program recognizes the leadership role that chambers have in their communities and honors them for their organizational strength and community impact in key areas such as education, transportation, economic prosperity, and quality of life.
In a statement released by ACCE, President & CEO Sheree Anne Kelly said, “This year’s finalists truly represent excellence in the chamber industry. Through their roles as community partners, thought leaders, and innovative problem solvers, each has demonstrated what it means to be a catalyst for growth and regional prosperity. We congratulate them on this achievement.”
Chambers that qualify to enter the application process are placed into categories based on size of operations, population served, number of businesses in the area, total general and restricted revenue streams, and current number of members. Twelve chambers across four categories have been named finalists for this year. The Gwinnett Chamber is one of three organizations to be named a finalist in category three for area chambers of commerce.
“It is a privilege and an honor to be named as a finalist for ACCE’s Chamber of the Year award,” said Gwinnett Chamber Board of Directors Chair Dean Collins. “We are grateful for the opportunity to tell our story of impact and leadership and congratulate our peer organizations who have also received this designation.
The Gwinnett Chamber worked within its application to identify specific actions over the last two years that have clearly and directly fulfilled its mission to champion business. From small business and entrepreneurial ventures to large industry, the Chamber’s leadership in public policy, economic development, signature programs, and member engagement combined to tell a unique story of commitment to ACCE’s Horizon Initiative influences for catalytic leadership, community impact, and strong programming.
“Having the work we do, and the impact we are making with it, recognized on a global scale is both humbling and affirming,” said Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett President & CEO Nick Masino. “We appreciate the leadership of ACCE and look forward to serving our community with even greater resolve for excellence in the future.”
The Gwinnett Chamber leadership team will be attending the annual ACCE Convention in Salt Lake City, July 31 – Aug 02, where an awards ceremony will unveil the winners in each of the four categories.
