Gwinnett Chamber returned to the nation’s capital for its annual Washington D.C. Fly-In sponsored by Jackson EMC. Thirty business and community leaders from Gwinnett gained unique insights into national economic and economic trends. Tariffs and taxes were the focus during discussions with lawmakers and US Chamber representatives as businesses grapple with the immediate and long-term implications of tax and tariff uncertainty.
Business leaders shared concerns about tariffs and the severe impact they will have on their ability to grow and hire workers. The Gwinnett Chamber encouraged its congressional delegation members to work together and with the administration on promoting policies that drive innovation, investment and job creation. Home to over five hundred international businesses, Gwinnett is uniquely positioned to serve as an integral partner with policymakers on finding the right solutions to strengthen Georgia’s business climate.
The Gwinnett Chamber also urged its congressional delegation to support extending the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and preserving the state and local business tax deduction (B-SALT deduction), a pro-growth policy that saves American businesses over $600 billion.
Gwinnett is represented by U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock and four Members in the U.S. House of Representatives: Congressman Hank Johnson, GA-04, Congressman Andrew Clyde, GA-09, Congressman Mike Collins, GA-10, and Congressman David Scott, GA-13.
