Suwanee Town Center was overrun when the Gwinnett Chamber hosted its annual Button Down Dash 5K. Over four hundred runners competed in this year’s race, all eager to button up another 5K. The rain held off. The clouds provided the perfect amount of shade. Regions Bank helped runners keep pace with its ‘Big Green Bike’. And fourteen sponsors and vendors delivered one engaging finish line experience with everything from cooling towels, water bottles, and shades, to door prizes and fun activities that kept attendees comfortable and happy until the results could be tallied.

Runners ranged from seven to seventy-nine years of age and hailed from all over the region. The Dash awarded multiple winners from varying categories, bestowing on deserving recipients the coveted “Button Down Dash 5K Tie” which has been this event’s signature award since its inception in 2012. Overall female first place winner went to Chloe Ciliege of Suwanee and the female masters overall went to Stephanie Magnuson of Buford. Male overall winner was Charles Mathes of Decatur, and the male masters overall went to Dustin Perdue of Monroe.

Sponsors of this year’s Button Down Dash 5K included Shumate Heating & Air, DICK’S Sporting Goods, Regions Bank, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, PCOM Georgia, Capital City Bank, Capital City Home Loans, Restore First Health, Shuma Sports, Big Peach Running Co., Georgia United Credit Union, Green Financial Resources, LLC, Summit Spine and Joint Centers, and Wilson Lewis, CPAs.
