The Gwinnett Chamber celebrated its Diamond Anniversary with the Seventy-Fifth Annual Dinner at the Gas South District on Friday, Feb. 3, 2023. This annual event, presented by Northside Hospital, focused on local and regional business growth while honoring the exceptional public servants, corporate citizens, and organizations who lead it.
Tammy Shumate, Director of Corporate Development at Capital City Home Loans, LLC, received the Citizen of the Year Award for her impact and leadership over the years. Public Service Award winners included Dr. D. Glen Cannon, President, Gwinnett Technical College; Jason Chandler, President, Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation; Jennifer Hibbard, CEO, View Point Health; Tim Le, Broker/Owner, NDI MAXIM Real Estate LLC; Chief J.D. McClure, Gwinnett County Police Department; and Emory Morsberger, Executive Director, Gateway85 Community Improvement District (CID). The United Way of Greater Atlanta in Gwinnett County received the D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award and the James J. Maran International Award recognized Siemens Electrical Products for their commitment as a global business to the growth and economic prosperity of their home community.
“This Diamond Anniversary was a celebration of our history and our present-day success as one business community,” said Nick Masino, President & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber and Partnership Gwinnett. “We congratulate our award winners, thank our sponsors, and look ahead to an even stronger, more inclusive future as a region.”
The evening also ushered in new leadership. Lt. Governor Burt Jones addressed attendees, highlighting priorities for Georgia’s legislative session. 2023 Gwinnett Chamber Board Chair Dean Collins shared his vision for this next year and thanked his predecessor, Jill Edwards, for her leadership that led the Chamber to its first-ever five-star accreditation rating from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Renowned actor and comedian Henry Cho also provided the evening’s entertainment.
