From one of Atlanta’s Top Places to Work, to its purpose-driven culture, Gas South is no stranger to effective leadership. Kevin Greiner, Gas South President and CEO, shared a few key insights with more than 120 key business executives at the Gwinnett Chamber’s On Topic luncheon presented by Rocket IT.

Greiner used Gas South’s approach to leadership to anecdotally provide scalable best-practice solutions for businesses large and small. He shared how the company’s purpose to “be a fuel for good” was manifested in four key areas of the organization. First, businesses must care for their employees and care about what they care about. Mentorship opportunities, cross-department connections, team building programs, corporate diversity strategies, and service-oriented community opportunities are all examples of ways to engage, learn-from and ensure an inclusive working environment. Second to employees are the customers they serve. And caring for customers comes with a certain level of ease when your employees are satisfied and engaged. From reliable service to meeting customer needs, the customer can always be right when the company culture is right. Finally, a business must elevate its industry and mission through solid marketing practices, and intentional community engagement. For a business to know how to engage and give back, it must understand the community around it.

Ultimately, Greiner concluded that a proper emphasis on purpose-driven leadership is proven to increase profitability. He left the audience with this simple challenge: What will your purpose be, and how can it transform your business and community?
