The Georgia General Assembly convened this week for legislative days 9 through 11. Legislators will return to the Capitol next week for Legislative Days 12 through 15. This was a busy week at the Capitol for Gwinnett as legislators debated and voted on a couple Gwinnett-related bills: specifically, SB 369 and HB 873. On Wednesday, the Senate voted along party lines to pass SB 369, Board of Education of Gwinnett County; future elections for members of the board of education shall be nonpartisan; provide. On Thursday, the House voted along party lines to pass by substitute HB 873, introduced by Chairman Bonnie Rich. Here is a preview of the new commissioner maps should this bill be signed. Please note that the chamber is only tracking these bills related to Gwinnett. We have not taken a position.

This Wednesday, the Gwinnett Chamber held our first Gwinnett Day at the Capitol event in over eight years. We look forward to building on our visit in 2023.
